No doubt, there are a lot of lessons to be learned when you decide to go in business for yourself. One of the hardest lessons I’ve learned over the years is that there are no shortcuts. Even if you get lucky enough to run into the perfect opportunity, the momentum will run out unless you dedicate yourself to three things:
- Active Learning
- The Ability to Do Business Online
- A Way to Attract Customers
Let me explain.
Here I sit—staring at a blinking cursor on the screen, trying to figure out what to type into my business plan to make my best move. Then, I get to the template section named “industry research”. Hmm, should I just start making stuff up? Probably not a good idea. So I am at the recurring challenge that most of us face where I gotta go learn something to keep things moving forward. I’ve noticed that most of the time when I get stuck in my business it means I need to dig in and start looking for sources to learn: online search, bookstores, classes, people I know, etc.
When you face challenges in your business, whether big or small, reset your mode of thinking and switch into learning mode.
So, you’ve gotten yourself in the know and learned something new. Great. Now, fast-forward. Your product or service is ready to go. It’s ready to sell. There’s no way around the fact that you need a vehicle to actually do transactions for your business. Since you’re reading this, start figuring out how you will do business on the Internet and Web.
You’re likely to get more customers if you have a way to sell online.
Net profit is the king-pin of business. It’s a marker that things are going well. To get net profit, you need customers. To get customers you need a way to let prospects know you exist, which is the definition marketing. I like this definition: Marketing is the process of interesting potential customers and clients in your products and services.
You have to find ongoing ways to market your business.
These 3 ways to business success are built right into BlackWoman.Biz. We’re here to help you learn, do business online, and attract customers.
